I've been a bit remiss in sharing my coveted views on tv. While the shows are on hiatus, I thought I'd put my thoughts together.
Favorite New Show: Glee
Well, I could have guessed that I would love this show about singing and dancing an high school and a girl named Rachel, and I was right. Glee is funny, creative and has a fresh storyline. It really is great and you should make every effort to watch it. I'm pretty sure you'll thank me.
Shows I Started Watching, Regretfully, Mid-Season: Modern Family, Community
Um, can you say hilarious? I tried very hard to resist adding too many shows to my tv line-up, but these two really are funny. Really really funny. Every episode of Modern Family reminds me of something that has happened in my family and Community makes me wish I had an eclectic group of quirky friends. Wait, I do. Watch and enjoy.
Most Improved: Ugly Betty
Thank you, Betty, for getting better. You were about to get un-DVRed, but you saved yourself. I"m so happy that you and Matt are together and that you are not pregnant.
Most Anticipated for 2010: LOST
Runner-Up: American Idol
Runner-Runner-Up: Big Love
Has it been nine months already? I'm more than ready for the thrilling conclusion of what is easily the best tv show in the entire world (that's right, I said BEST). I'm pretty sure my world will crumble when it's finally over, so they better make it worth while. I can't wait to see all the twisty, loose ends tied up.

I agree with everything except for the community bit. I gave it two and a half episodes. Too much work and feels too much like Office and 30 Rock and all their snarkiness wears me out sometimes. HOWEVER. I want more Modern Family. NOW. The TV guy in KC said that the best reason to own a DVR is that Glee and Modern Family are on at the same time!

ReplyDeleteAlso, the new season of Gavin and Stacey is on the BBC and I HIGHLY suggest people checking it out. I downloaded the first two seasons to my iPod and was laughing out loud on the airplane.

ReplyDeleteKim-- we've watched 24, but its one of those shows that takes a lot of energy, and we are full on those. And I only watched a few episodes of the Bachelor last season because we went to high school with one of the guys. I don't have a hard time skipping most reality tv. :)
Stine-- What is Gavin and Stacey? Tell me more! Glad you enjoy Community too.
Gavin and Stacey is about two people, Gavin from Essex, England and Stacey from Barry Island, Wales. They have had a professional relationship over the phone and decide to meet. The first episode is about their preparations, intros to their family (gavin's mom is the mom from the A&E Pride and Prejudice. so funny), and meeting in London with their two friends (the actual writers of the show) Smithy and Nessa. Not to spoil anything, a quick relationship buds for Gavin and Stacey and a weird and reluctant one starts for Smithy and Nessa. It is a little racey at times, but good enough for the BBC 3 channel it started on. I heard ABC is in the process of remaking it for America.
